General Description
ECI
offers a variety of dielectric thin films for glass substrates
for the purpose of reducing first surface reflection losses
and improving energy transmission. These films are suitable
for deposition onto GRIN rod lenses, molded glass elements
and conventional fused silica and borosilicate glasses.
Coatings will be optimized for angle of incidence, substrate
index of refraction and incident medium. Broad-band, dual-band
and narrow-band designs are available. Typical designs
are illustrated at right.
ECI
#269 is a narrow-band low reflection coating that
can reduce first-surface reflection to less than 0.1
% at the peaking wavelength. Designs are also available
for high power applications demanding extremely low absorption
and high throughput.
ECI#279 is a special dual-band design that provides
low reflection performance at two wavelength regions. This
coating is commonly used in amplifier applications utilizing
a 980nm source with output at 1550mn. Reflection less than
0.25% is typical at both wavelength regions.
ECI#289 is a multi-layer broad-band coating used to
reduce first-surface reflection over a wide wavelength
region. A common design has reflection less than 0.3 %
from 1250 to 1600nm. Other designs include low reflection
performance from 600 to 1000nm. Custom designs are available
upon request.
All
designs pass typical telecommunication environmental requirements
on most substrate materials.
