General Description
ECI
offers optical coatings specifically designed for application
to fiber ends, ferrule assemblies, and other temperature
sensitive substrates. Our low temperature process minimizes
previous outgassing concerns from cladding or epoxies.
The coating materials are deposited with very high energy
resulting in films that have an extremely dense and compact
film structure. These films exhibit superior resistance
to moisture penetration and abrasion.
ECI
#6468EP is a narrow-band design that offers exceptionally
low first-surface reflection losses. Our standard design
has reflectivity values less than 0.15% at the peaking
wavelength. Special designs with lower reflection values
are available. This coating is optimized for your specific
angle of incidence and index of refraction.
ECI
#149EP is a broad-band design with first-surface
reflection of less than 0.25% across a wide spectral
region. This design is typically used to reduce reflection
losses at the 1.3 and 1.55 micron wavelengths. Custom
variations of this design are available for specific
wavelength regions and lower reflectivity values.
ECI
#179EP is a dual-band design that reduces first-surface
reflection to less than 0.25% at two peaking wavelengths.
This design is typically used for the 980nm & 1550nm
wavelength regions. Custom designs are available.
ECI
has the knowledge, experience and equipment to inspect
and prepare your parts for the coating process. In-house
fixturing is available for various components, bare fibers
and many common fiber assemblies. We also work with our
customers to develop custom shipping/coating fixtures for
your specific part in an effort to reduce costs and improve
handling. Fibers coated with our EP process have passed
typical industry environmental requirements.
