Mirror Coatings For Fiberoptic Components

General Description

ECI offers metal and dielectric mirror designs for deposition directly onto fiber ends, GRIN rod lenses and other fiberoptic components. These films are extremely stable, adherent, and humidity resistant.

ECI #806 is a front or back surface gold mirror that offers excellent reflectance from 800 nanometers to the infrared. This coating can be deposited directly onto your plastic or glass fiber ends at ambient temperature. This overcoated design will meet the environmental requirements of MIL-M-13508. The curve at right illustrates front surface (air boundary) reflectance of 98.5% at 1300nm and back surface (cement or glass boundary) reflectance of 93% at 1300nm.

ECI#640EP is an all-dielectric multilayer coating that can provide reflection greater than 99.9% at the desired spectral range. Designs are available for use on various index media, angles of incidence and polarization requirements. These film designs are deposited at low temperature and are suitable for fiber ends and other temperature sensitive assemblies. This coating is suitable for demanding environmental conditions that would damage conventional multilayer dielectric films.
