ECI # 415 – SOLDERABLE COATINGS FOR GLASS FIBERS AND WINDOWS

ECI offers several different thin film designs specifically for use as a solderable coating for glass or fiber substrates. These films are deposited at ambient temperature which makes them suitable for use on fiber ends and other temperature sensitive parts.

FIBERS

The perimeter of a glass fiber can be coated in preparation for soldering into a hermetic termination package. The fiber is typically received with the jacket pulled back. ECI will clean, mount and coat your fibers in the desired area.

WINDOWS

ECI #415 can also be deposited in a frame pattern around a window that is to be soldered onto a metal package. These films have excellent adhesion to their glass substrates and have survived destructive lift-off testing. AR Coatings can be applied to improve the transmission and reduce the reflection losses of the window.
