Low-temperature processes minimize out-gassing from epoxies and cladding materials. Our high-energy deposition processes produce extremely dense and environmentally stable films suitable for devices that must pass extended humidity and temperature cycling tests.

ECI has the experience to fixture, clean, coat and inspect Fiber Optic Devices including bare fibers, jacketed fibers, ball lenses, laser bars, window caps and many others. Preparation and coating processes are performed in a clean room environment. In-house tooling is available for coating many common fiber assemblies.

Custom designs are available upon request.

The links below are examples of some of our standard optical coatings for Fiber Optic Devices:

AR Coatings

Low-temperature designs include super low, narrow band laser wavelengths, C-Band, L-Band and dual wavelength coatings.
Typical Fiberoptic AR (Anti-Reflection) Designs

Metal Mirror Coatings (Near Infrared to far Infrared)

ECI deposits enhanced Gold Metal Mirrors for many laser diode applications including biomedical devices, scanning, sensing, military and fiberoptic assemblies. In accordance with MIL-M-13508C.
Typical Metal Mirror Designs

Dielectric Mirror Coatings

ECI’s low-temperature all dielectric mirror coatings designed for direct deposition onto fiberoptic devices including: fibers ends, GRIN rod lenses, laser diodes, laser bars and other temperature sensitive components. In accordance with MIL-C-48497.
Typical Dielectric Mirror Designs

Beamsplitter Coatings (240nm – 2000nm)

Dielectric and Metal Beamsplitters designed to separate incoming light into two components consisting of reflected and transmitted beams. All coatings are optimized to meet customer specific requirements including ratio of reflected versus transmitted light, AOI, wavelength region, polarization and incident medium.
Typical Beamsplitter Designs

Custom Optical Filters

Bandpass, Broadband Pass, Long Wave & Short Wave Pass, Dichroic, Rejection, Edge Pass and Neutral Density Filters. Optical Filters deposited with Ion Beam Sputtering Leybold APS and IAD Deposition.
Typical Custom Optical Filter Designs

Attenuation Coatings

Thin film coatings designed to reduce or remove excess energy in an optical system.
Typical Attenuation Designs

Metal and Dielectric Depositions

Selection of coating materials deposited to your specified target thickness.
Typical Metal and Dielectric Deposition Designs

Solderable

Chrome, Nickel, Titanium, Platinum and Gold depositions on the outside of fibers and other substrates for low-temperature soldering processes.
